Resident Manager at Le Plaza Hotel

Job Description:

The Resident Manager lives in the hotel. Whilst generally working an 8 hour day to oversee the hotel, he/she is on call 24 hours a day for emergencies or problems. The resident manager organizes his/her work to increase efficiency and service quality

• Inspect hotel to gather information and monitor surroundings and decide what needs to be done.
•Security of guests, employees and hotel facilities is a priority.
•Communicate and coordinate with other managers to plan large events.
•Make decisions and develop plans for how to manage hotel.
•Analyze financial information and create reports for owner.
•Handle money and record payments onto computer.
•Identify staffs' actions and evaluate whether it meets hotels' standards.
•Answer customers' questions, make them feel at home, and build on-going relationships.
•Know about market conditions to provide guests with useful, updated information.
•Schedule work activities and communicate duties and hours to staff. Coach staff on how to do the job and motivate them to finish projects.
•Coordinate front desk staffs' work, and build a team environment.
•Interview applicants and judge the quality of their skills to staff various positions in hotels.
•Perform general physical activities and administrative tasks when delivering mail or answering phones.

Job Qualifications:

•High school diploma.
•At least 5 years work experience in a hotel or in the hospitality industry.
Experience in managing a team
•Good knowledge of French and English. Creole and Spanish are an advantage.
•Computer skills: knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word…)
•Excellent people skills: knows how to adapt to different situations.
•Comfortable with numbers with basic accounting knowledge.
•Attention to detail.
