Job Description:
The Haiti Local Enterprise and Value Chain Enhancement (LEVE) is a USAID-funded project that strives to increase economic growth and employment opportunities in Haiti. LEVE will expand opportunities for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to generate employment for Haitian men, women, and youth in the three development corridors: Port-au-Prince, Saint-Marc and Cap-Haitien, by improving the competitiveness of key sectors: construction, apparel and textile, and agribusiness, working with select value chains with the most potential for growth.
The Communications Specialist will support the implementation of communication and outreach activities under the USAID-funded Haiti Local Enterprise and Value chain Enhancement (LEVE) project. Specific responsibilities include collaborating with the Haiti LEVE Chief of Party, Deputy Chief of Party, and other project staff in the design and implementation of a communications strategy and provide professional leadership to develop and maintain a communications plan in conformity with USAID guidelines and practices. Develop and maintain program outreach tools including but not limited to websites, blog sites, social networking sites, twitter, and traditional print and media outlets. Provide required input to project deliverables and reports. The Communications Specialist will also work in close collaboration with the USAID Communications Officer assigned to the project.
Roles and Responsibilities
• Support the implementation of awareness-building campaigns and public relations activities, including the preparation of press releases and drafting of other communications products, in coordination with the LEVE project staff.
• Draft, write, and edit high quality written materials in English, French and Creole, including success stories, newsletters, factsheets, outreach material, pitch letters, and other communications materials.
• Work closely with project staff to research and collect content and stories about the project's impact and achievements.

• Maintain on-line content in English, French and Creole (e.g. Facebook and Twitter pages), ensuring the timely posting of relevant information and updates, in collaboration with other project staff, as needed.
• Participate in elevating the Haiti LEVE projects public presence through external events and presentations
• Plan and execute events and presentations targeting internal and external audiences at the national, regional, and community level.
• Coordinate the adaptation and translation of all program related communications, PR and media materials, including the development and production of French and Creole PR and media materials.
Job Qualifications:
• Superb written and spoken communication skills
• Superb computer skills, particularly PowerPoint
• Demonstrated ability to use social media for project implementation purposes
• Bachelors degree required, with a minimum with 4-6 years experience in communications, marketing or a related field
• Fluent French, Creole and English
• Experience working on USAID or other international donor-funded projects
• Highly collaborative work style
