Job Description:
Operations and Logistics Manager:
This role will establish and maintain the physical infrastructure, human resource and external contract service providers to manage the logistical program needs of the Haiti operations.
Areas of Responsibility
WAREHOUSING
*Review the current warehouse (understand the specification, capacity, equipment needs, manpower need)
*Liaise with the security position on static security and the movement of supplies
*Establish / manage a central warehousing facility; investigate field / warehousing needs
*Establish and maintain a staffing structure in all warehousing facilities;
*Establish and implement health and safety procedures;
PEOPLE MOVEMENT
*Responsible for establishing and maintaining a system tracking vehicle usage as per operational priorities (Vehicles, traffic control, maintenance, etc)
MATERIAL MOVEMENT
*Responsible for establishing and maintaining a system for inbound and outbound logistics;
*Responsible for establishing and maintaining a system to monitor the quality, quantity, cost and efficiency of the movement and storage of goods;
PROCUREMENT
*Responsible for liaising with the Procurement staff in Finance regarding the purchasing cycle, as per HFH procedure and policies, for program-related services, equipment and materials
INVENTORY
*Coordinating and controlling the warehouse side of inventory stock control systems
REPRESENTATION
*Represent HFHI at the UN logistics cluster
OTHER
*Manage orientation training module for all logistics related staff
Job Qualifications:
5+ years experience in logistics coordination
Experience working in an international environment; disaster response experience preferred
Fluency in English and French required; Creole preferred.
Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Experience with Habitat including Habitat's overseas work and team travel
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Experience working with excel and accounting software
Strong interpersonal skills and a positive attitude
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to multi-task
