Job Description:
The General Manager oversees all internal operations of the Company, the purchasing and sales of plastics to local and international clients. The GM’s role is central to the successful growth of the Company, providing the leadership, management and vision necessary to ensure that the company has the proper operational controls, administrative and reporting procedures, and human capital in place to ensure its financial strength and operational efficiency.
Specific responsibilities include the purchase and sales of plastics to local and international clients, a broad oversight of production personnel and operations, management and control of raw materials planning, usage and budget implications, oversight of the Company’s energy efficiency, regular consultation and planning for budget and financial projections, and oversight of reporting and results related to Key Performance Indicators.
The General Manager reports to the Board of Directors, while communicating regularly and coordinating closely with the members of the oversight committee.
Job Responsibilities:
Processes
Provides day-to-day leadership and management to the Company as a whole, and specifically to the production, quality assurance, logistics, human resources and warehouse teams to ensure smooth daily operations.
Plans and supervises the production of plastic Flakes following a production schedule and measure the efficiency of production against target outcomes.
Oversees performance of all functions within the manufacturing, material management, stock management, maintenance and engineering departments, including their adherence to the company budget and performance against profit maximization goals.
Guides investment decisions for new equipment, machinery, and other CapEx.
Sets energy strategy for Company.
Represents the firm to clients, and business partners.
Controls
Provides timely, accurate and complete reports on the operating condition of the company.
Leads the performance management process that measures and evaluates progress against goals and the Key Performance Indicators of the company.
Reports these results on a monthly basis to the Board of Directors.
Manages and oversees all operational, financial, and business planning activities including:
Overseeing the development of all operational and financial planning documents
Regular review and analysis of financial reports with an eye to the monthly performance of the Company against projections, including achieving sales targets and Key Performance Indicators.
Oversees risk management and legal activities: Client contracts, partnership agreements, leases, and other legal document.
Job Qualifications:
Four-year college degree from an accredited institution; masters in business administration (MBA) or equivalent preferred.
Minimum of 5+years of strong operational experience: ideally in a senior management role for 3+ years in the plastics industry.
Demonstrated experience in financial planning and analysis with previous experience overseeing human resources, information technology, and contracts.
Excellent organizational development, personnel management, budget and resource development, and strategic planning skills.
Committed to the environment and its preservation.
Excellent communication and management people skills.

Fluent in French, Creole, and English. Spanish language skills a plus.
