Job Description:
Project Medishare is looking for a dynamic, energetic, self-driven, and highly focused individual to take on the role of Outreach Engagement Coordinator for the Women’s Health Center in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. The Women’s Health Center focuses on providing reproductive health and cancer care to women in Haiti regardless of their ability to pay.
Job Title: Outreach and Engagement Coordinator for Project Medishare’s Women’s Health Center
Employment Status: Full-Time
Salary: US$1500 per month for a total of 9,000 for a 6 month contract with possibility of extension.
Job Description:
The Outreach and Engagement Coordinator will be responsible for assisting the Communications Director and Program Director with building and maintaining strategic and critical partnerships with patient, medical and non-medical actors and setting up a steering committee for the awareness program. Specifically, the Coordinator will work toward three goals:
a.) Improve patients’ level of trust and foster advocacy for the program by using proactive strategies and activities to establish an environment in which patients and families feel safe and free to voice their opinions.
b.) Enhance and maintain relationships with local partners through the creation of a Steering committee or Community Advisory Board.
c.) Consolidate relationships between the Women’s Health Center and local media outlets.
The Outreach and Engagement Coordinator will be directly supervised by the Communications Director and will also be required to take part in an on-going evaluation of the implementation of this new position and to provide documentation of activities that will be key to the evaluation as well as the program as a whole.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Work collaboratively with the Women’s Health Center program Director, Communications Director and entire team to improve awareness and patient care.
2. Build local awareness of Project Medishare’s Women’s Health center through a variety of engagements including events, media coverage and community outreach.
3. Devise patient and family engagement systems and activities that support Project Medishare’s Women’s Health Center to provide the best treatment environment possible for patients and their families.
4. Assist with providing the program’s partners with support in communication and outreach for women’s cancer prevention and care.
5. Assist the Communications Director with setting up and managing workshops, research sessions and the program steering committee.
6. Develop and maintain relationships with all local partners.
7. Assist with keeping records of all research and steering committee activities to be used as part of the final evaluation and research outputs.
8. Devise a strategy for discussing and disseminating an awareness tool-kit to local partners.
9. Assist with training sessions of community health workers.
10. Other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications:
• Resident in Haiti and fluent Kreyol and French speaker.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Community Development/Outreach/Social Work/Communication or other relevant area.
• Experience working in Community outreach, advocacy or as a highly experienced community health worker.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage time well.
• Excellent written (French/Creole) and oral communication skills.
• Experience in developing and/or leading workshops and trainings.
Preferred
Fluent in English (reading and writing also preferred)
Computer skills
Reports to:
Communications Director of Project Medishare’s Women’s Health Centre.
