Job Description:

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
 Will report directly to the HAGN Coordinator and assist with activities to carry out HAGN activities;
 Work closely with the HAGN Coordinator to implement and further structure programming for safe space program for adolescent girls;
 Work closely with the HAGN Coordinator on proposals; grant reports, and terms of reference for grant agreements;
 Work closely with the HAGN Coordinator to develop new content material for the safe space groups – ensuring that formatting is consistent with other HAGN materials;
 Will be the point of contact for mentors and coordinators via phone and email. Will contact coordinators/mentors about upcoming activities etc.
 Assists in the distribution and collection of pre and post material testing and contributes to analysis and evaluation of outcomes;
 Frequent travel consistent with the monitoring and expansion of the network’s activities;
 Ability to liaise with and cultivate donors both in the US and in Haiti;
 Will assist in documenting activities via photos for the Board as well as
Facebook and Twitter;
 Assisting in the translation of documents;
 Active participation in planning of mentors trainings;
 Provide technical support to mentors and coordinators in mapping and
recruitment of incoming girls;
 Regular updating of social media (Facebook, Twitter, Website), newsletter,
and the public face of the Haiti Adolescent Girls Network;
 Attend meetings and represent HAGN as necessary.
Coordination of HAGN Mentors
 Follow and track mentor/coordinators’ reports and payments;
 Frequent contact with mentors/coordinators to ensure they are delivering
the content as it is laid out in the yearly plan – giving assistance and guidance where needed;
 Ability to conduct site visits to observe the delivery of content to girls in Safe Space groups;
 Assisting in the delivery/facilitation of training or helping to identify lead mentors to facilitate mentor trainings in the areas of sexual and reproductive health; gender based violence, financial literacy, and leadership;
 Development and updating of database related to HAGN’s activities.

Job Qualifications:

Ability to work productively in highly collaborative settings, while also able to function independently on multiple deadlines;
 Ability to interact professionally with culturally diverse partners, staff, and Network members;
 Excellent oral and written communication skills in Haitian Creole, French, and English;
 Familiarity with M&E performance indicators for gender-related interventions;
 Familiarity with capacity building;
 Experience of working in and advocating for women’s and girls’ rights;
Knowledge of gender equality and equity, gender transformative approaches, changing restrictive social and gender norms, and the rights and empowerment of girls;
 Linkage with relevant local and/or international civil society organizations and social movements is an advantage;
 Experience in providing communication support including editing reports and writing newsletters;
 Experience in using various social media platforms for knowledge sharing and networking;
 Accountability and the ability to deliver on agreed tasks to a high standard;
 Willingness to travel to remote areas of Haiti, as required;
 Degree in social science or related field
 Experience working in Haiti and good knowledge of the Haitian culture

About Haiti Adolescent Girls Network

The Haiti Adolescent Girls Network (HAGN) Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of all activities related to the HAGN in Haiti. The Network is a collective of Haitian and international organizations committed to protecting and empowering adolescent girls in Haiti. The primary objective of the Network is to foster the delivery of sustainable programs to support the social, health and economic development of Haitian adolescent girls through the Network membership. Similar programs, focused on building the assets of girls, have been implemented throughout the developing world, and the HAGN draws on those best practices and contributes to a community of practice organized by the Population Council.
