English Program Manager (EPM) at Haitian Education & Leadership Program

Job Description:

The English Program Manager (EPM) is responsible for all major components of HELP’s English Language Program (ELP). The EPM reports to the Academic Director (AD), supervises the English Language Instructors and works closely with the Citizenship & Leadership (C&L) staff. Responsibilities include: teaching, managing program staff and resources, taking primary responsibility for the ELP’s administrative tasks and communications, and improving the ELPs program structure (through tasks such as curriculum development). The EPM is also primarily responsible for representing the ELP to visitors, donors, etc. Proficiency in educational technologies is an asset.

Job Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications :
 Bachelor’s Degree (minimum) in a related field
 Experience in Education and/or ESL (Two years minimum)
 Management experience (two years minimum)
Essential skills:
 Excellent writing skills
 Strong interpersonal skills and management skills
 Strong IT skills (Word, Excel, Moodle)
 Ability to work autonomously or in groups
 Experience working in Haiti is a plus
 Advanced level of English (Reading, Writing, Speaking, Listening)
 Ability to communicate in French and/or Haitian Creole.

The mission of the Haitian Education & Leadership Program (HELP) is to create, through merit- and needs-based university scholarships, a community of young professionals and leaders who will promote a more just society in Haiti.
The goal of HELP’s Academic Department is for all students to develop English proficiency, capacity in information technologies, as well as the skills and desire to work for positive change in Haiti. While HELP’s English, IT, and Citizenship & Leadership courses are taught as separate curricula, cross-curricular connections are an important part of course development.
