Future Hope Manager at Maison de Lumiere

Job Description:

JOB DESCRIPTION
Development of Life Action Plan for every child, to be updated quarterly
Ages 5-13: Meet quarterly or more in group settings to discuss career destinations, with the intention of allowing children to Dream
Ages 14-18: Organize and facilitate workshops to get students prepared for internships
Utilize current relationships and establish new relationships with businesses and organizations to create and monitor internships for CHI children.
Follow-up with students as they create their resumes
Look for and organize field trips for the children where they will learn about employment opportunities in Haiti.
Work on secondary education/trade school, including access to scholarships, and support (Grad Fund)
Aftercare follow-up with graduates (3rd month, 6th month, 9th month, 1 year)
Semi-annual update to Board of Directors on graduates’ status

METRICS FOR SUCCESS
Develop and maintain personal Life Actions Plans and quarterly meetings for each child
2 vocational exposures (e.g., field trips, guest speakers) per year per child
Develop systems for finding internship opportunities, marketing to business and schools, presenting them with our Internship Guidelines document.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE:
Each child has a successful internship with an outside business
Each child creates and maintains an active resume and cover letter

Job Qualifications:

Required
Degree in sociology or education (Prefered)
Experience working with children (3 years prefered)
English, French, Kreyol
Knowledge of Word, Excel, Powerpoint

From time to time the employee may be asked by the Director(s) or the Orphanage Supervisor to perform a job duty not stated above, but within the normal operation of the organization.
