Job Description:

The CEO reports to the Board of Directors. The CEO is responsible for the leadership, successful management and performance of the organization.

The CEO:

•actively engages with the Board of Directors for the development of long-range, strategic, and financial plans and is responsible for successful execution
•develops high quality business strategies and plans •ensuring their alignment with short-term and long-term objectives of the Board of Haiti Projects
•oversees the financial performance, operational effectiveness, fundraising, and human resource functions to meet budgets, achieve desired results and ensures the organization operates consistently with the overall strategy and mission of Haiti Projects.
•develops, nurtures, and manages a high-performing leadership team that leads and motivates direct reports, as reflected by high employee engagement and performance
•supports the culture of the organization
•communicates with the Board of Directors about the organization, and seeks guidance and approvals as needed
•builds trusting relationships with key partners, funders, stakeholders, staff, and the local community and act as a point of contact for important shareholders.
•serves as the spokesperson for Haiti Projects and is ultimately responsible for internal and external communications, maintaining a positive image of the organization in the community and with all stakeholders and influencers
•ensures compliance with all laws, regulations, and policies

Job Qualifications:

•MS/MA in business administration, non-profit management or equivalent
•Knowledge of Haiti/Haitian culture; working proficiency in French and Creole preferable
•Successful track record as a CEO or other senior executive position
•Strong organizational and leadership skills
•Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
•Ability to develop and maintain an engaged and high-functioning team
•Experience with finance and financial oversight
•Experience operating in a resource constrained developing country
•Experience working with a Board of Directors
•Familiarity with a broad range of business functions such as marketing, PR, finance, operations, production, human resources etc.
•Successful track record in fundraising and grant writing
•Entrepreneurial mindset
•Ability to travel between Haiti and US
•Position may be based in Haiti or in Massachusetts
